“ This feels the real deal. Yes you pay for it but the service is impeccable. If you worry about paying 20 to 30 for a cocktail this ain’t your place, but big picture this is worth that. The tributes around the bar, the, bit’s of Heathrow runway, the caps and flags all add to a place you can lose hours in. ”
“ 5 stars in all aspects! Superb food with a very professional service. Superb wine list with fair prices. We were there for a business meeting and were recommended the place. This address has become one of our favorite in the Capital. I highly recommend the Rockefeller oysters and the Chicken Caesar Salad with a glass of Au Bon Climat Wild Boy Chardonnay. ”
“ My recent visit to The American Bar at The Stafford London was an unforgettable experience, where the vibrant summer cocktails and exquisite all-day dining menu truly stole the show. Nestled in the heart of London, this iconic bar continues to impress with its blend of creativity and classic elegance. The summer cocktail menu is a masterclass in mixology. I had the pleasure of trying the Summer Solstice, a refreshing concoction of Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret Gin, Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, peach, cherry and sage tea, orange blossom water, and soda. The blend was both aromatic and delightfully balanced. The Vortex was another standout, with Beluga Noble Vodka, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, raspberry, rhubarb, and champagne creating a sophisticated and effervescent delight. For something rich and tropical, the Bagasse, featuring Flor de Cana 12-Year-Old Rum, Two Drifters Spiced Pineapple Rum, Discarded Banana Peel Rum, mangosteen water, pineapple, and champagne, was simply divine. Lastly, the Coral Reef offered a refreshing twist with Snow Queen Organic Vodka, watermelon, Mancino Sakura Vermouth, hibiscus, mint, and yoghurt – a perfect sip for a warm summer day. The food was just as exceptional as the drinks. We started with the Oyster Rockefellers, which were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. For snacks, the crab doughnuts and crispy scampi were both delightful – the doughnuts were light and fluffy with a rich crab filling, while the scampi was crisp and tender. For the main course, the New York strip loin with onion rings was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender, and accompanied by the most satisfying onion rings. Finally, we indulged in desserts that were the perfect ending to a flawless meal: the New York style cheesecake was rich and creamy, and the crispy apple pie offered a perfect balance of tart and sweet. Overall, The American Bar at The Stafford London is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in expertly crafted cocktails and delicious food in an elegant setting. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this experience is not to be missed. I can't wait to return! ”
“ The American Bar is probably my favorite cocktail bar ever. I've been to London twice and have been to The American Bar four times. The vibe is unmatched. It's upscale but not uppity. They treat you like a regular on your first visit. The drinks may be on the pricier side, but no more so than other comparable iconic cocktail bars, and the drinks are well worth it. The cocktail menu is so creative that you'll want to try everything. ”
“ Fun bar with great decor. Though its called the American bar and has American decorations it still has that British feel. Excellent and friendly service. Indoor and outdoor seating. Extensive cocktail list. Great place to rest, chat and wet your whistle. ”
“ Me and my brother very much enjoyed this place. The drinks were sooo good! And the bartenders were super friendly. One of them was telling us the story of the decorations that they have and just overall about the drink menu. We can for a few hours at night to enjoy some cocktails and it was a great place to finish the night. ”
“ The American Bar at The Stafford is one of those rare London bars that blends history, elegance, and real cocktail craftsmanship. From the moment you enter the atmosphere is timeless and relaxed - leather banquettes, walls lined with memorabilia, and a sense of old-school charm that never feels stuffy. But to me, the real standout here is the bartending team, who are genuinely masters of their craft. Whether you're after a classic Martini, a perfectly balanced Negroni, or something bespoke, their cocktail skills are exceptional. Having been about a dozen times over the years, it’s the kind of place where you’re made to feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Quietly refined, consistently excellent, and well worth seeking out if you appreciate a proper drink. ”
“ Truly iconic American bar in St. James's. Visiting is always a joyous experience. Staff are welcoming and have the highest customer service. Cocktails are fabulous and often have fun presentations. I could look at the photos and memorabilia hanging from the walls and ceilings all night long. ”
